Mini Swap: Freaky Friday the Book (1972)

It's a Mini Swap!
While Kevin and JC continue working through their FREAKY PROJECT by chronicling all the Freaky Fridays in all the mediums the guys talk about the original 1972 book written by Mary Rodgers, as well as the potential inspiration of Freaky Friday with the 1800s story Vice Versa about a father and son taking the others form.

Episode #4: Freaky Friday (1976)

Annabel Andrews (Jodie Foster) and her mother, Ellen (Barbara Harris), don't always see eye to eye. After a particularly frustrating argument on Friday the 13th, the two simultaneously wish they could switch places -- and suddenly their wish is granted. Each discovers how difficult it is to be in the other's shoes, with Ellen causing chaos at Annabel's school, and Annabel unable to deal with her mother's domestic duties. The two learn a lot about themselves and their relationship in the process.
This week on the pod JC and Kevin officially begin their Freaky Project when they review FREAKY FRIDAY the Disney OG from 1976 based on Mary Rodger's 1972 book. Pody Swap will be reviewing all the various Fridays (that could include Ice Cube's FRIDAY, FRIDAY THE 13th, TGI FRIDAYS, we haven't decided yet) but we've got to start somewhere, so here we are!The guys talk about Kevin's puke, John Astin being a young 45 year old Daddy, the connotations of being a Daddy, the ancient art of nudes in the 90s, children smoking, and so much more!

Ed Helms and Jennifer Garner star as a husband wife who swap bodies with their son and daughter, oh and the dog switches bodies with their 2 year old baby... for reasons...
We talk the family dynamics, why this is a Christmas movie at all, the slightly incestous implications of this switch, and tease a bit of Kevin's HELL HOUSE history.

Mini Swap: 18 Again Redux

On a quick little Mini Swap to wet your whistle before next week's episode JC discusses the shocking fact that 18 Again! was recorded two years ago. A helpful listener suggests a new George Burns replacement for the proposed 18 Again! reboot. JC addresses the audio issues that Kevin experienced, and Kevin himself rates his performance on the pilot. Plus we tease next week's big episode!

Episode #1: 18 Again!

Following a car accident on his 81st birthday, ruthless businessman Jack Watson (George Burns) discovers that he's somehow switched bodies with his timid 18-year-old grandson, David (Charlie Schlatter). 
While David lies comatose in Watson's aging body, Watson has no choice but to adopt his grandson's identity. Thrilled with his newfound youth, Watson soon excels at sports and becomes the most popular kid at school, but with his new lease on life comes a new perspective as well.
On the inaugural episode of Pody Swap JC and Kevin discuss the 1988 classic featuring then-91 year old George Burns playing an 81 year old. The swapping duo discuss everyday items invented after Burns' birth in 1896, the best choices for a modern day update of 18 Again!, and just how long George Burns was actually on set for this film.

TWT- FAN FEST 2019: Shell Shocked Shenanigans in Parts Unknown!

Happy Anniversary! We celebrated Three Way Theater's three year anniversary in style as Mike, Lumberjake, and JC invaded the New England Fan Fest 7 hanging out in 'Podcast Row' and talking with various fans and vendors from the event which took place live from the Crowne Plaza in Warwick, RI.
They're joined by the craziest shell-head professional wrestling has ever known in Steve "The Turtle" Weiner (@SteveTheTurtle), a maniac once some apricot brandy touches his lips (do turtles have lips?). Steve hangs out trying to sell the boys on a masked spider gimmick while crooning some tunes leading to a big finale singing "Jive Soul Bro." 
We also speak with film director Richard Chandler (@BostonUndead), who was on hand at Fan Fest to promote his pro wrestling horror film Parts Unknown! We were psyched to speak with him and purchased the DVD so we would be able to formally review it for an upcoming episode.
